Description
daForge Newskool Style ASCII. daForge was a FTP site run by a leading member of the first major MP3 music release group (as far as I can remember).
It is also one of my first ASCIIs using the style. I did until then primarily block style ASCII and ANSI. The demand for Newskool style ASCIIs and Oldskool style ASCII (Amiga) was exploding around 1996-7, when things started moving into the Internet.
FTP servers were often run on Unix/Linux type servers that did not support "high ASCII" as it is used for block ASCII. They only supported the standard 7-bit original ASCII character set of 128 charcters.
